Bana

Daas has been told to write an article about bana and Fashion.

Daas doesn’t need to say much about this because one who is internally pure will want to be outwardly pure. To be internally pure one has to do:

- Naam Abhiyaas
- Gurbani Abhiyaas
- Keertan
- Seva

Those who long for the Lord, are said to be His servants.

Those that are servants will not care about fashion and have interest in this world. They will remain detached in the midst of maya.

If anyone longs for Vaheguru then it is the life of the saints that we should imitate, they alone know the way to Saach khand.

Someone who wears bana (chola) and doesn’t have strict amritvela, doesn’t practice Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s teachings (rehit), doesn’t do a lot of naam/gurbani abhiyaas, will disgrace and disrespect Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s roop e.g. using foul words, using insipid words i.e. speaking harshly, flirting, starting unrighteous fights i.e. intolerant, etc.

That person who wears bana is giving himself the image that he is a Khalsa. When describing the Khalsa, Guru Gobind Singh Ji says that the Khalsa is pure, without any flaw. He has both the saintly and soldier side. If one desires to become a Khalsa, they have to have the internal purity so they won’t make any mistakes. To other beings we represent our Guru.

Someone who is internally pure and externally pure (wears bana) will in thought, word and deed do gurmat. This person has similar qualities to Guru Gobind Singh Ji. To attain union with God, one has to be like God. This person is truly in love with Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
